Baptism

“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission” CCC, 1213

To arrange a Baptism for your child, contact Fr Deighan by phone, via email, or in person after Mass. He will arrange an appointment with you and guide you through the process.

“By presenting your child for Baptism, you [the parents] accept the responsibility of bringing him/her up in the practice of the faith” (Rite of Baptism). Extended family, parish and school can help, but the primary responsibility of bringing your child up in the faith belongs to the parents – or at least the Catholic parent. Be aware of this responsibility and prepared to take it on. That is the least your child deserves.

“Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved.” (Mark 16:16)

If you are an adult seeking baptism or reception into the Catholic Church, speak to Fr Deighan. He will be very happy to hear from you and guide you
